our story

Founded in 2026 while planning our own wedding, Grazing Dayz began with a simple idea: we wanted to create something more personal than what we were finding. What started with our own celebration quickly grew into a shared passion for bringing people together through good food, beautiful presentation, and genuine hospitality.
Our story is a blend of two backgrounds and two love stories. Alessandra was born and raised in Sassari, Sardinia, where food has always been at the heart of family, tradition, and gathering together. Derek grew up in the Midwest and has spent years cooking for our family of six, developing a love for preparing homemade food and creating meals that bring everyone to the table. Together, we bring our different experiences, flavors, and traditions into everything we create.
At Grazing Dayz, we believe food should feel personal. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a celebration with 100 guests, we put care into the food, the presentation, and the little details that make people feel at home. Our menus combine Italian-inspired flavors with Midwestern favorites, creating food that is familiar, comforting, and made to be shared.
We proudly create charcuterie boards, grazing tables, cold appetizers, homemade sweets, and more for weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, bridal and baby showers, graduations, anniversaries, business lunches, holiday celebrations, family reunions, and all the moments worth gathering for.
